About the project
We don't judge decisions. We look at the reasons behind them.
Why We Decide is an educational and self-reflection platform focused on understanding human decision-making. We don't ask what you would do — we ask why you would do it.
Vision
We don't judge people. We help them understand their own motivations. The product stands on self-reflection, education, and long-term personal growth.
Every decision has a story, and every motivation can be understood. The same decision — admitting a mistake at work, for example — can grow out of a fear of punishment, out of concern for colleagues, or out of a deep conviction that the truth has value in itself. From the outside it looks the same. Inside, it is a completely different story.
What you will find here
- A test of twenty-one moral dilemmas — for each one you make a decision and mark why you decide that way. The result is your motivational profile: a percentage map of the six layers your decisions grow from.
- The methodology — how the framework of six motivational layers works, and what it rests on.
- Scientific inspiration — profiles of the psychologists and economists whose work we draw on.
What you will not find here
- Boxes. We will never tell you "you are level 5" or "you are blue". The result is always a profile — a mix of layers, which also differs by area of life.
- A grade. No layer is bad. Fear can protect, benefit can be effective, and order holds a society together. Every motivation has strengths and limits.
- A diagnosis. The test is not a psychological diagnosis, and it does not measure personality or intelligence.
Where the project is headed
We are starting with a test and educational content in Czech. More dilemmas, a deeper reading of the results, a comparison of profiles, and further languages will follow.
